Catolicas por el Derecho a Decidir de Espana

We are an autonomous movement of Catholic persons committed with the research of social justice and the changing of cultural and religious patterns predominant in our society. We promote women’s rights, in particular those related to sexuality and human reproduction. We work for equity in gender relations and for the full citizenship of women in society and within the Churches.

We work at the intersection of religion, feminism and reproductive health rights, being rooted in all three communities: the progressive grass roots Church, the feminist movement and the reproductive rights community. We work in close cooperation with the Latin American Network of Católicaspor el Derecho a Decidir, present in 10 Latin American countries, with RedesCristianas, a network of progressive Catholic organizations in Spain and the European Network Church on the Move, a Network of progressive Catholic organizations present in 15 European countries, we are an integral part of the Spanish feminist movement and a member of RedesActivas, a Spanish network of organizations working in the field of reproductive health and rights. Religious freedom and freedom of conscience are at the core of our preoccupations.
