Joanna Senyszyn is a Polish left-wing politician. She was the vice-president of the Democratic Left Alliance Democratic, a left Polish social democracy political party. Furthermore, she was a member of the Sejm, the lower house of the Poland parliament for the last 8 years. Joanna Senyszyn is a Professor of Economics. She holds the chair in market research at the University of Gdańsk, where she also served as the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration before being elected to the Sejm.
Mrs. Senyszyn´s political activity focuses on issues as sex education in schools, refunding contraceptives, in vitro fertilization, prenatal examinations and gay&lesbian rights. She drafted among others a law that would have liberalized the abortion legislation in Poland.
The separation of church and state is one of the most important part of her actions. The separation of church and state is a contentious issue at the forefront of national politics in many countries, including Poland. she is the only one Polish politician who such clearly insist on the separation of the religion from state. She created a special term kaczyzm as a protest to the political activity of the Law and Justice government.
